Statement Of Academic Intent
After more than two years of experience as a system engineer for TATA Consultancy Services in India, one of the most reputable IT companies, I am ready to return to school and study Engineering Management.
After graduating in Production Engineering in Birla Vikwakarma Mahavidyalaya (Guj Technological University), I felt it was important to get some experience in an organisation that would give me a firsthand view of the real world of engineering. I love every moment of my job, especially when I get to work on multiple projects for one of the world’s top automobile manufacturers. Also, the chance to discuss ideas with experts in this field. It was clear that I don’t like being confined to one role and only taking on routine tasks. I want the opportunity to lead the project. My colleagues and I have been encouraged by my ambitions. They believe that I am capable of pursuing graduate studies as engineers management. I want to get my Masters of Engineering management because technical knowledge is not enough. It is essential to be able to apply the knowledge and manage the project in a detailed manner that is consistent with my work ethics. For my personal growth and the success of the company I will serve, it is crucial to have a solid understanding of technical management. My current organization has a collaborative approach with clients and other stakeholders. I will have more options if I improve my skills.
I believe that my future self will be able to use the knowledge and skills I have gained from the institute’s experienced and knowledgeable professors. I explained that I wanted research to help me make informed decisions about the subject and where I would study it. I also kept busy with training programs and industrial visits. I gained a better understanding of the subject through this. I presented a technical article at the national conference and was also responsible for organizing various cultural and technical events. My leadership skills, communication skills, and academic performance were all factors that led me to be elected president of my Department.
Two projects I was involved in were designed by GMM Pfaudler USA (USA), the global leader in Glass Lined equipments. As the project leader, I had to overcome many practical challenges and tight timelines. This was a challenging task because I had limited resources and could not implement ideas or tasks. With the help of industry experts and professors from my College, I was able to successfully complete both my projects on schedule.
To pursue an MSc in X, my goal is to have a deep understanding of engineering streams and sharpen my intellect. Ten years from now, I see myself working in the manufacturing industry. Your college’s world-renowned high-tech facilities and excellent academic programs will allow me to use what I have learned to help the industry grow. I hope you will accept my application and allow me to apply for X program.
