Financial Aid Academic Progress Appeal

I have been challenged over the years to achieve my student goals. My father died and I was depressed for five years. I struggled to keep up with my daily life and deal with any situation that presented itself. I was forced to leave college numerous times. Although I tried returning several times, there was always something that prevented me from completing my courses. My daughter was born with severe complications. She spent over four months in hospital and was monitored for 14 months. My father passed away shortly thereafter. Later, my grandmother and my niece were killed in a fire at their home. I became a slave of depression and was constantly suffocating everything around me. I feel that I did not have any support or guidance. I’m aware of my mistakes and I want to give FSW College another chance to help me academically. Thank you for your support.

My life and circumstances have changed significantly over the last months. This has enabled me to return to FSW as a highly-successful student. I saw a therapist to get help. I learned to take control of myself and to manage every situation with grace. I now see life in a different light. I’ve had a difficult life and I now know I deserve better. I will graduate college. I now understand that education is important and that I will continue my education. I am at a stage in my career where I’m eager to pursue it. I’ve been through a difficult time in my life but that doesn’t mean I should be complaining. I know what my goals are and I am determined to achieve them. I am registering to take the classes that were not completed or failed in order to further my academic development. Although I want to earn A’s, I am content with a B. I was a bright student in highschool and regret that I didn’t get there. But, now I have eyes open and am ready to go forward. I have spoken with my academic adviser and am looking into Vocational Support Services workshops to help me in many areas of academic success. D. Please describe your academic goals. My current goal is to finish my associate and then my Bachelor’s degrees. But, I do not intend to use my degree for survival or money. Instead, I want to create a senior-focused business and make a difference in the lives of seniors. I will maintain a high GPA and take at least 4 classes per semester. This goal requires that I have a solid education.

That is why it was so wonderful to be able back to school. Without financial aid, my education will not be possible. I am focused on the future of my studies and will continue to dedicate my time to it. Please give me another chance. I want to be a successful student and academic success. I truly hope this appeal shows that FSW will be a success student. Please don’t look at my past to determine my future success. Many steps have been taken over the past year to ensure my success moving forward. I believe I am deserving of having my financial aid suspended. Sincerely, Adrine Walker.
