America Should Have Taxpayer-funded College Education
According to Consumer News and Business Channels, around 70% of college-educated students have student loan debt. It can take many years to repay student loan debts in America, which amounts to about $37,172. This burden is left on students after graduation while people with higher incomes are able to pay it off. America should afford college educations that are tax-payer. Regardless of financial status, should all Americans have equal opportunities to start over after college? Although some may argue it would not benefit the most vulnerable, it can be implemented with great success and will allow everyone to begin their independent life after college, regardless of their financial status.
Some may argue that the free access to public universities means that lower-income students will have fewer educational options due to the Curriculum Assessment Statements (or caps) that correlate with enrollment. It would not benefit the most vulnerable students, but that doesn’t mean it has to be. We can use different systems to assist the poor, just as countries around the world have done. The United Kingdom has a income-based repayment system that allows graduates to only pay what they are able to afford. Australia’s Higher Education Loan program allows for debts to be very affordable. Many loans won’t be repaid completely (roughly 17%). The system was designed to allow that.” To make it happen, there are many steps we can take. There are many ways to make this happen. If you put your effort into it, this investment could allow you to live as happily as other people.
Everybody has the opportunity to get a taxpayer-funded college education. Some students have the freedom to create their own lives after college. Others are bound by this obligation. People with debts have a lower chance of being successful than their peers. CNBC claims that graduates with less debt are more likely to be able to build equity in stock and bond investments, while those who have a lot of debt pay years in principal and interest on loans …’.. It is a country that promotes equality. This should be available to everyone. This creates an opportunity for descendants of those who are wealthy to be successful, but not for those who are poorer.
We can reach this goal by investing in education rather than spending money that is not needed. Donald Trump has spent trillions on his military, money that could have been used for something better. Trump has spent $2.5 trillion on military spending. To “eliminate tuition in public colleges, universities and trade schools, and to cancel all student loan debt,” it would cost $2.2 trillion. America spends more on the military than any other nation. Trump’s $25Billion border wall is another example. There are many places where money is not being used properly. It must be stopped.
Taxpayer-funded college education would help reduce student debt and increase college-level education. This is especially true since many individuals aren’t able to afford college. Instead of focusing on college debt, people are spending their time paying it off. This goal is possible in many ways. It’s not impossible. No matter what their financial situation, all Americans should have equal opportunities to succeed.
